suffragette event

Are any of you local folks thinking about coming to the suffragette event on May 29th? I have 5 people who are coming right now, but I'd love to get some more. Even if you can't commit for the whole time, you can come and go if necessary. Bring your menfolk and kids too - all are welcome! I have costumes that I can lend out if you don't have ( Read more... )

*love* the hat! I want to try making a new hat for this event, but I'm not sure if I'll go for something super-wide brimmed, or something more like a flower-pot style. Maybe we should et together for an afternoon of hatmaking fun sometime!

And I hope you are able to throw something together and come! I have several skirt patterns that you are welcome to borrow, and a white blouse from Goodwill would finish it off fine... especially since we can wear banners across our chests.

I saw your invitation on the CG list and I've been waiting for my supervisor to come back to work in order to ask for permission to skip off early that day, since I've faithfully worked every Saturday for seven months. She's not back until Tuesday.

I wish I knew why LJ keeps signing me out at random points.

Oh excellent!!! I wasn't sure if you'd be able to ask for another Saturday off or not. I'm glad to hear that you might have a shot at coming! :)

One of the few bummers about working Scarby this year is that I'm gonna miss this event. I've been wanting to do something with Women's Sufferage for a while. Ah well. I'll be thinking of y'all while I'm riding the big crazy tall ponies.

I hope Crystal doesn't flake. If so I'm still going either way.

I hope she comes too, but I'm just happy to hear that you'll be there either way! :)

I'll take you up on that offer of lending me a preggo outfit (is this the one you wore to the Japanese exhibit?). I'm still getting past the super-tired stages of the first trimester, so I haven't had much energy for anything. Ok, it actually probably has more to do with my co-sleeping teething toddler, heh. Anyway, I'm in! I'd love to. It sounds like fun. :) I think I can recruit my mom to be my baby watcher while we do this, too.

Yay!!! I'm so excited that you can come! Yes, it's the black dress with the jacket seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/97828910@N00/1388532289/in/set-72157602026003492/

It is all elastic and drawstring construction, and I was a HUGE 8 months pregnant when that picture was taken, so I'm sure it'll fit you with no problem. I'll be happy to run the dress and hat over to your place when the event gets closer and we can check the hem length to see if it's okay.

Thank-you SO MUCH for offering to help out! I'll send you the volunteer packet next. What email address should I use?

Use my gmail address: jay dot ragan at gmail. ^_^ I think it will be totally fun. I may try to see if my mom would want to come. It just seems like the kind of thing she would find fun, and getting an outfit together for her should be pretty easy. Plus, I could make a 1910 dress for ze Vee and then the two of us could chase her. Hm. Gonna call her right now.
