There’s no word to describe Taka. Inside the company he’s always called ‘Massu’, but I used to call him Taka.
I'm glad you gave Kato a few lines about Erika and Massu. I loved this part, because you showed the readers a side of Taka I hadn't mentioned.

My initial reaction to this was exactly like Shige's, lol, it fit into the story really nicely :D

“I should’ve know she was lying when she said her oxygen tank was still half full,” I choke out a sob.
