I really don't mean to keep doing this disappearing thing.

I know, I suck. I never update, and it is because I am a Giant Douche. Yes, all these 2.5 years of being in LA has literally morphed me into a Giant Walking Douche. It's pretty epic ( Read more... )

You know Jen, you really don't need to apologize for the lack of updates every time. We know you update when you can/want to. And quite frankly, it's been 2.5 years at this point. We're used to it. We still love you :)
Glad to hear you're still doing alright.

I, too, am obsessing over Iron Man. I'm afraid that I like it better than Batman Begins...which bothers me because of how much I love Batman. I, however, still have high hopes for The Dark Knight...but I also have a sinking feeling it's just being advertised the right way. Oh, and the last scene after the Iron Man credits...oooh my god. I was yelling like Anchorman's "Brick" (Steve Carell) with grenade in hand.

In response to your comments on my post:
Thanks for the Birthmas wishes and video :) It reminded me that I still need to watch Venture Bros. Season 2 ^^; I am now in the process of d/ling that and "Honey and Clover" due to the bold letters in your post (I only watch anime via. friends' recommendations now ( ... )

HAHA. You have no idea how great a visual that is.

Re: Honey and Clover, it gets off to a slow start, and isn't so much plot as it is character-driven. Well, I guess most slice of life series are like that. BUT. It is still quite good, and I wholeheartedly stand by my rec :D

Nowadays re: anime, I been doing the same: base what I watch on friends' recs or how high a score they've received on ann.com. (God, why did I pick up Risky Safety?) It's the only way I can weed through all the crap.

I'm still behind on the texting era! I just never send enough in a month to warrant adding it to my plan. So you'll probably hear from me via phone/e-mail, more likely :)

Please do! Er, I have a new cell number, I'll have to e-mail it to you or something. Wait, wtf is your e-mail?

By the by, glad to hear you're healthy and sane, despite relationship weirdness. Hopefully California will be good to you!

you updated! you are truly a better person than me.

re: asses... i hope you mean homing. i'm not sure the typical hot ass could bear much honing ;)

re: iron man... best superhero movie ever! fantastic casting and a really tight, funny script. i had to replay that vanity fair line in my head a time or two, then laughed my ass off. (completely off. as in, nothing left. sorry. maybe i can borrow the suit?)

Funny, the usage I was thinking of was to "hone in" on something. Looking back on it, I'm not sure why it came out as some weird pseudo-home/hone hybrid. And if we're on the topic of metal asses, that one I saw yesterday could certainly take some honing...

You should've seen The Vulcan's face when this exchange took place:

jen: Ask me what my favorite part of the suit was.
Vulcan: Was it the mask?
jen: No, but that was cool.
Vulcan: What was your favorite part of the--
jen: The ass.
Vulcan: *tries to start laughing, but realizes jen's actually serious*

Kind of like that time we were out in Pasadena and I said "Mancake."

Which Vanity Fair line are you talking about? And holy crap, I would not object to anyone threatening to inflict the ass of Iron Man's suit on me.

I know this is an older post of yours, but... dude... now I don't feel like such a dork anymore for buying the UK DVD instead of the US one as well. ARE WE AWESOME OR WHAT!?

FINALLY, SOMEONE I CAN BE AWESOME WITH :D

I totally bought that thing before I had a region-free DVD player. I managed to rip it and tried to put it on a DVD-R so I could watch it in all its WS glory only to realize PAL does not convert to NTSC easily, like at all.

So then obviously the only logical thing to do was go out and buy a region-free DVD player. (PpG movie in WS is not the only reason, but I would argue sure maybe like 80%)
