You hit the nail on the head, I think. I also hate episode reviews that are whining just to whine, but like reading reviews with thoughtful criticism, even if they may be negative altogether.
I barely glanced at a couple posts and couldn't believe the bellyaching I saw. Negative comments like "This episode didn't really draw me in" or "I wasn't fond of the format and don't think it worked" are reasonable: "OMG this was terrible and this just might make me quit watching the show!" make me go "Really? You're such a fair-weather fan that one bad/off episode is going to make you stop watching??" What kills me are the people whining and bitching about episodes that haven't even aired yet; apparently they can tell just from the TITLE that it's going to "suck." WTF?
I posted a very negative review of Lifetime's new remake of Steel Magnolias; but unlike a lot of fandom complaining I gave specific details and reasons for why I didn't like it, not just "OMG THIS SUCKS!"

Also the reason I've avoided reading posts about the episode. If I want to listen to a lot of whining I'll go hang around a bunch of small children.

Which is, as you said, constructive criticism.
I personally taped that just to see the Juice Scene and Ouiser vs Drum ("Ouiser, you look like hammered shit...") -- then deleted it after.
I prefer the original, too.
