SUMMARY: In this next installment of the "Different Roads" AU, we get glimpses into how the overall school year functions for Dean and Sam now that they're on their own and Dean is a teacher as well as a student.
I really like this verse! Sorry I didn't comment on each part but I had to go gobble up your previous parts. ;D Just one question, is Dean deaf or hearing impaired, or just knows ASL for hunting? Not that it matters, I was just afraid I missed something and was curious.
When Dean went mute after the fire in this world, he didn't speak again for 18 months. His father ensured he learned ASL so he could communicate, just in case his speech never returned. John learned it at the same time.
Sam grew up bilingual, as Dean taught him ASL when he taught him how to speak. John insisted Sam always speak, which is why Sam doesn't sign much.
