This effing cold sucks. Every time the wind blows I feel like I've just been pelted in the face by a snowball. This wouldn't be such a problem IF I HAD MY EFFING CAR back like I was supposed to by now. Which if you hadn't noticed is REALLY starting to irk me ( Read more... )

I know it's a brillant piece of literature, but I don't think I could read the whole Tale of Genji. I've read the Pillow Book diary of Sei Shonagon, which is significantly shorter than Murasaki's fictional tale, but I still had a hard time reading it. The book was beautiful and I enjoyed it, it just didn't click well with me. Maybe it's the translation, medieval Japanese (or any Japanese for that matter) is so tricky to translate into English. When I become a brillant Japanese scholar, maybe I'll try to read Genji in it's modern Japanese translation ( ... )

I just took out a copy of The Tale of Genji from the library so I can get a head start on it before it arrives from Amazon. It is quite a hefty tome thats for sure.

i also enjoy new beds. the pillowtop i got from Serta is soo nice.

you mean it is going to get colder? fucking feels like antartica.
