Scott and I went to Chuy's while we were waiting for the paperwork on the Teutonic Honda. On the way back to the dealer, Scott urged me to go sit on a Sportster at the Harley Davidson dealer across the street- just to see.

Know this- I've never had a hard-on for Harley. I was very wary of even going there- especially knowing that the Sportster was ( Read more... )

I'm very impressed. Even with forward controls, this bike is the most 'like' a cruiser I would choose for me...even if it's still the 'chick bike' of Harley's.

That says a hell of a lot more about me than you ;). Don't forget, ride like you're invisible and you'll be fine.

Thanks! Yep, it's convenient that I'm a small chick, because I have no other choice but to buy the cheapest Harley (almost) they make. I was thrilled that the 1200 was just as easy as the 883.

And yep, it's considered a standard rather than a cruiser. :( but the bobber look of the Nightster is pretty coolio.

I keep wondering if I regret getting the black and orange rather than the all black, but I guess if I hate it later, I could always get it painted. I'd love to get rid of the Harley logo anyhoo. That would make the bike look more "hardcore". :)

what does scott ride?

I love you that you're not affected by the HD belt buckle thing..

Your bike has that classic vibe..think Fonzie, Steve McQueen, and James Dean..

awesome.

I taught myself to ride a motorcycle when I was 19. I would sneak out my boyfriend's bike when he was at work, and ride it down to the elementary school and go in wide circles and build my confidence. Give yourself a little time to get comfortable and you'll probably never look back.

Remember to keep the rubber-side down, sister!
