In writerverse we're doing my favorite challenge from fictionland.  That's saying a lot for someone that tends to write longer (more wordy) fics because this challenge is to cut, cut, cut.

It's 544 words and I thought it turned out pretty good.

Version 2 was pared down to 250 words and that actually wasn'

Very interesting to compare the versions. I've got to say that I like the more nuanced, vivid, and layered treatment that the longer versions allow, but then you've read my writing too. Sometimes I can't shut up when I ought to, so clearly longer and more detailed is a personal bias of mine. Still, it's an interesting challenge to see how much you can convey with only a few choice words, and still give the reader some emotional impact, and these pieces do that.
