Yes, I'm going to bitch about RP!Secrets now. Watch me fail.

I'm beginning to wonder if people who lurk games, or even lurk comms like Dear_Mun ever take in to account that playing in a game means that the character isn't going to stay the same forever. I mean, that would be boring, wouldn't it?

Obviously, there's a certain level of ICness that ( Read more... )

Ah, not regarding me, but a friend. He plays our Jinx at Digital Dive. It's not the first time he's been bashed, but sadly a lot of Divers get bashed on RP!S. People don't seem to realize we've got plot and character relations almost three years old now. The whole thing is kinda dumb, and they tend to target us via Dear_Mun posts.

I've been blasted for my Haku Yowane there. :

Absolutely.

The attack against my Haku was twice as dumb because Vocaloids don't have a set canon. Idiots. =/

This is the one reason why I like obscure fandoms.

But I can get 'em for you. :|

One would think that Jinx would be obscure enough that no one would throw a fit about OOCness, but eh, whatever. One would also think the same of Vocaloids as they don't even have a canon. But, again, whatever. In that respect I'll just take people who complain about Vocaloid OOCness to be overly anal nazis.

Don't worry about it. xD; Thanks for the offer though.

This is especially applicable for:

1) Characters whose speech/action/thought patterns do not fit a norm for their age/gender/race/species(?)

and 2) Characters whose behaviors are very easily influenced by other characters.

My Littlesister!Marlene is a great example of this.

On top of being sorta-kinda brand new to RP, Marlene is a character I have never once explored. Her voice is very new (and surprisingly difficult) to me, and I'm trying really, really hard to find it. She's also an extremely complicated character. After all, the girl was genetically engineered to harvest stem cells from dead bodies and eat them. What can you expect?

For one, she's been engineered so her body doesn't age, and her mind has, in a way, left her body behind. So, just because she looks like an 8-year-old, doesn't mean she will completely act and think like one. Sure, she may "dumb down" the way she says things and thinks about things, but that doesn't change their meaning. Equivalent to maybe a 12-year-old, and despite its difficulty for her, she ( ... )

Amen. AUs are especially difficult, and tend to get ignored on Dear_Mun anyway because a lot of people don't seem to grasp the concept, or like how an AU is played just because you're putting a character in to a whole new universe. IDK, there's a lot of gripes about it and you're absolutely right on all these points.

I guess its when people complain about canons that drive me crazy. I mean, Greg Sanders is canoncally goofy, usually fairly optimistic, likes to flirt, ect ect. Generally, a happy guy, right? But you put any person, even happy ones, through too many damn knocks they're going to start to wear thin. Especially when their loved ones are threatened/hurt/taken away from them. Yet I'm just waiting for Greg's recent breakdown to come across some one's screen and for them to start screaming CSI Blasphemy on me. *rolls eyes* Paranoiachachacha.

It's cool about the AIM thing. I honestly have no idea if its up right now. This whole fuxxor'd LJ thing had my computer crash today. I'll put it up tomorrow if its not already up.

I couldn't agree more. I decided that after our talk in the LJ maintenance blog where we met, that I would take a peek. I hope you don't mind. I don't have a personal journal yet, but if necessary, I could create one. I mostly put my personal things behind the "My Eyes Only" since I don't like to complicate things ( ... )

Of course I don't mind! I hardly friendslock 'cause I don't mind my little corner of LJ being public. Maybe I'm crazy for that, I'm not really sure. But I've gotten a lot of people who agree with this post, which makes me feel a little more vindicated in my rantings ( ... )

Wow! Vindication is always a good thing. I'm so relieved. I haven't made a dicision on making a personal journal yet mostly out of the time that I normally have online isn't really enough for me to manage both accounts and plus, I'm very lazy when it comes to thinking work ( ... )

Sorry for the delay in responding. Had a smaaaaall itty bitty family emergency, but its over now.

I can understand the desire for simplicity, but damned if I can't follow it myself. I've got my personal journal, a writing journal, all these different RPs... it gets a little insane. It's a damn good thing I don't subscribe to that nonsense they call a 'social life'.

Haku is the white-haired variation of Miku Hatsune, the official Vocaloid with green hair. Miku is equally adorable, though.

Dude. Jurassic Park, all the way and ftw. Totally.

Sorry, what's Kenetics?
