I have a desktop, laptop, blackberry, 80g ipod, tv, dvd, a/c, fans, a car that means no public trans and walking with my health. I have a lot physically, in terms of items of luxury and though my family has always been middle class military, I always have.
In the end though, excluding A/C and my computer, there's a lot of it I would give up if it meant more love and emotional affection from my family.

Our new rental has A/C in the living room, but perhaps our biggest luxury is that so far even in the most crushing heat, we haven't needed it because of a wonderful breeze.
I consider myself privileged compared to people in Third World countries and lower class America. Compared to middle class America, not so much.

Oh, I didn't realize that in "big ticket items" we could choose travel...I'd give up every other luxury for that! (And have...)
