Just got an automated call from NOM.

They were conducting a survey. I'm curious what kind of tripe they would have spewed if I hadn't declared that marriage should NOT be defined as being between "ONE man and ONE woman" (their word emphasis). Before asking me to take the survey, they declared that it was about "one of the most important issues of our time" - I agree. It's an ( Read more... )

It would be interesting to know if they keep your results or not. I don't trust them to be fair or impartial about this survey. Not that I'm accusing them of being fair or impartial with the administration of the survey, or anything. If they got more testy with you when you didn't confirm their preconceived bias, then this was not a survey but a push-poll. So they're already in the hole as far as credibility, but would they actually toss out the data from folks who don't agree with them? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It was automated, but the tone of the recorded voice changed from "There is a serious problem we need to discuss" to "I am obliged to inform you of our organization info" - but I got two questions before the "Thank you for sharing your opinion" - Am I registered to vote (Yeah!) and Do I believe marriage should only be between one man and one woman (No!) - then it ended. I feel like the would have been more questions or information of I had said yes, but I'm not an idiot, so I did not say yes.

I agree that they cannot be trusted to accurately record and report information.

It's still a push-poll, and they still fucking suck.

Coincidentally, I got this page on my Stephen Colbert calendar today:

STEPHEN ON...HOMOSEXUALS
At one time (I believe it was 1952), acceptance of the gay lifestyles was so low that there were exactly two homosexuals in the continental United States. One was male, and one was female, so they never tried to get married. But today, tolerance is at a dangerous level, and if it keep increasing at current rates, everyone will gay marry, and our grandchildren's grandchildren may never be born. Or worse.

They'll be gay adopted.

Hope the sarcasm made you smile at these people who are now on the wrong side of history :)

Of course they would. It's the sort of people they are.

Reading your earlier response, you know they likely throw out those that don't agree with them.
