Fuck drugs. For those of you who know, I've never done drugs nor do I ever intend to in my life. My family has been destroyed because of it and now I've lost an ex boyfriend to it. We've been apart for quite some time, but that doesn't mean that I didn't care about his well being ( Read more... )

I just randomly came upon your LJ. (you just posted in the LA community).

I have never done drugs either. most of my friends do them (it seems like everyone does), so i almost feel alienated from them a lot of the time. or maybe it's the other way around.

in a couple of days it'll be a year since one of our best friends died in a car wreck from being high and drunk. it's so sad when good/young people die! and you would think her friends would slow down... but nope, they all still use.

Jen. I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I have seen the destruction it has caused also, in friends and other peoples' friends and relatives. You are not a Fuddy Duddy. I have never touched drugs either. I have never had the desire to, but I am not going to say I have not been curious. I have addictive qualities that I am aware of and I am very lucky to have not fallen into any of these circles. I do have a drink or 2 or 3 every so often, but I know my limits. Alcohol is a drug as well ( ... )

I too randomly came across your LJ from ohnotheydidnt and just thought I'd put in my 2 cents as well. I'm sorry to hear about your loss; I too have steered clear of drugs, watching them almost destroy my dad and brother (who are both doing great now)--being 5 years old and watching your father carried away in an ambulance after a cocaine-related heart attack can have a certain affect on you. And then I read people's journals where they say they're thinking of getting into cocaine because it's "retro". Ugh. I'm heartened to see so many people posting in support of your lifestyle. This post reminded me of a song by the band Good Riddance ( ... )

Thank you for the reply. Sorry to hear about how drugs have affected your life as well. I just don't get the appeal when people die of this stuff everyday. More power to us, right?
