I think it's an awesome idea to set aside a day to be thankful and to spend with friends, family and/or the less fortunate (hey; I used to spend Thanksgivings in a soup kitchen with people a lot more sane than my mother). But seriously, folks, let's get the record straight ( Read more... )

You know, it's okay to not turn every pleasant event into a reason to get political. Because we've all been there, argued that.

And despite your constant haranguing of your mom in your LJ, I suspect she's a pleasant, graceful, and cultured woman. Nothing less could've raised you to be so not. ;)

In other words, YOU CAN STOP REBELLING AGAINST YOUR MOM NOW. YOU'RE NOT 14 ANYMORE. :p

Also, I'm in Rome right now. And you're not. This is unfortunate.

I had a few minutes before work the other day, so went into a major book retailer to screw around for ten minutes. I was then hit with the memory of why I hate - hate - shopping in person anywhere during the holiday season. Motherfucking Christmas music. How online shopping has saved my sanity, part one. Christmas music makes me downright homicidal. Christmas Slay, indeed.

Anyway, though I generally curl up at home thinking Bah Humbug thoughts, I do it with some very boozy eggnog. And I have that eggnog whilst making kickass holiday cards. If you'd like one this year, please leave a message at the tone.

See, I always think of you during this time of year! ♥♥♥♥♥
