IT'S THAT TIME OF THE MONTH AGAIN! GRRRRRR......

1. I am horrified that Victoria's Secrets runs their suggestive Ads before 9pm. Hell I wish they weren't on television at all [they weren't when I was a younger person!]. But before 9pm? Seriously. I have to cover my son's eyes every single time they come on. They make him very uncomfortable and ( Read more... )

Honestly if I knew NOTHING about you except the sole fact you share my LOVE for Nick Lachey and anger towards Jessica for leaving him I would be your devoted friend. The fact that I know the more important amazing-ness of you is just the deal sealer.

When I first heard that song I cried. When I hear it now I still get sniffle-y and though the video could be a little cheesy there is something so honest and real about it. IMO. I've been watching it non-stop on AOL all day... okay maybe a couple of breaks but for the majority of the day it has been on. I'll be buying his CD on May 9th. He sounds great and his voice and lyric content has gotten a lot stronger. I'm really excited about his new CD.

*hugs*

That's because VS wasn't around when we were kids. ;) I don't mind seeing Alessandra in her underwear. *g* Yes, I do agree that it should be on later perhaps after 10pm.

Anna Nalick is amazing. I wish she'd release something else off Wreck of the Day. Every song's great on that CD.

Victoria's Secrets was around when I was a kid. I'm not THAT old. They just didn't advertise on television. And really they shouldn't. It's very disturbing to me - and that isn't only because I'm raising a young person. It's always disturbed me that they are so suggestive in their ads for bras and what not. But my agitation is definitely greater now that I'm responsible for a kid.

Yeah - they're hot. But save it for the catalog - thanks.

I really love that "Wreck of the Day" cd

VS also sends out way too many catalogues. I get at least one a week. There's a couple environmental groups boycotting them due to the trees killed to make the catalogues. It's not like we don't know what type of clothing they sell. *g* Shopping online is the best way to go, anyway.

I love the new Nick Lachey song too. Heard it on the radio for the first time this morning. He really has a beautiful voice. Never really paid attention to his talent before. I think I need to add some Nick to my playlist. ;-)

You definitely do! I have a good amount of 98 degrees [beautiful harmonies] and his first solo stuff! Although I think this second release will be better than the first!

You know, I have that Anna Nalick cd.

I think it is so cool that the nephew is walking! I mean, very, very cool! And man time flies! Cannot believe he's gonna be a year old!

Give hugs to the boy for us!

5. OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!! Spanish Star Spangled Banner. Hell no. HELL NO. I can't think of one other stinking country on this planet that would appreciate THEIR national anthem sung in another language. This is carrying America's "melting pot" status TOO FAR. FUCK NO!

Although the US doesn't have a 2nd official language, Spanish is the most spoken language after English. Canada has their national anthem in both French and English. We do have two official languages, but one is more widely spoken than the other (I think you can guess which one).

Hate to say it, but I think it's a great idea!

I'm not sure how to respond. :) You can think that - nothing I can do about that.

English is our official language. Spanish is not. I don't really care how much it is spoken around the world. What I do care about is the fact that there are so many that come to live here and never learn the language that is the official language of THIS country. If I were to move to another country for the rest of my life, I would certainly do my best to learn about their traditions as well as the language. It wouldn't have to change my origins or where I came from - but it would be respectful of where I chose to live.

And I have to honestly wonder how many of those that live here and don't speak English are supposed to be here. Legally.

But back to the Anthem - I would never expect any other nation to have their anthem translated in the manner in which this has been. It's a huge insult and I'm not alone in that thinking.
