I, actually, disagree with you, for a change. Freedom is worth anything and everything. "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be bought at the price of chains and slavery? I know not what course others may take, but as for I, give me liberty, or give me death!" Yeah, I know, I probably misquoted that badly, but that's my general school of thought.

HOWEVER.

Fighting is a last resrt, when all other options have been exhausted.

I am so very proud of our armed forces, having two cousins over there myself. And that is why I'm so against putting their lives on the line unless it is absolutly nessecary. To do anything else is criminal.

But yes, I'm proud to be an American. As to what's done in the name of America, that's another story.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, however, I am not willing to do the same for someone else, as far as this war is concerned.

The trouble I find with the concept of an all-volunteer army is knowing the government, military, and those who blindly follow their lead convince themselves that its' servicemen and women are more easily-disposable because of a, "well, they knew what they were getting themselves into"-mentality, which, just as a civilian, I find extremely offensive. Again, I'm not entirely sure if "disposable" is the proper way of describing it, but that is certainly how I interpret it. And, I know I'm not alone ( ... )
