Part of me urges for action, but what kind of action? Do we have the right to tell others how to rule their country? If we do become deeply involved, how will that threaten our freedoms and individual liberties? Do these issues ever involve decency of any kind? Are we all that desperate to reach God by going as far as committing universal evil? Does religious belief of any kind excuse any action? Do we need to risk our own freedoms in chance to earn freedom for all?

Today and tomorrow are so unbelievably grey, complicated, and uncertain that I am amazed to see that we choose to continue loving and living.

Despite all of it, I still do, and somehow, it's not a choice I can make.

If I thought it might do some good I would gladly e-mail this link to the White House so a statement of condemnation could be made--but I don't think this president gives a damn. I might, with your permission, send the link to my senators, although I'm not sure what they could do.

Here's the thing. Religion and morals clash. They will always clash. It's a horrible shame, but, the truth.

You're absolutely correct, and that's been something I've acknowledged for quite some time now. However, it disturbs me most when people unconvincingly believe that religion somehow equates morality. That has never served an ounce of truth.
