Typically that's what happens when you get a warning. They wouldn't live it down (or keep their job) if someone gets killed because THEY were too busy giving a mere speeder a $200 fine.
That's kind of disheartening... I rather like the idea that I don't live in an area where a lot of crime worthy of skipping off a speeder happens :/ but I guess no place is safe...
I always thought getting a warning was because the cop didn't want to do any extra paperwork and had already met his/her quota.
I only once got a warning rather than a ticket. And it just lends credence to my opinion that State Highway Patrol tends to be more full of jackasses than local Sheriff's deputies. The only time I ever got a warning vs. a ticket was with a deputy. All the other times I got tickets, it was Florida Highway Patrol.
