Despite what Char says, work is exactly the same horrible shit [plus people bugging me about leaving, which includes Big Boss now] until my last day has actually happened. Worse, today, since we had exactly three Backroom peeps tonight: me, Error, and Clueless II [more accurately, "Mr. Cranky," but I don't feel like going into that]. I mean, I've ( Read more... )

Two bits of work-related advise.
#1, see if you extend your "last day" to encompass your remaining personal leave. This isn't that uncommon a practice, and you might find some success.

#2, i'm not sure if Target conducts exit interviews, but even if they don't try to schedule some time to sit down with somebody in management who has a few brain cells to rub together. Have an honest discussion about A: why you're leaving, and B: all of the stupid shit that could be easily fixed if the right people would just care about the things that matter. Be honest, you've already quit, so they can't go and fire you. Considering retail turnover, you probably have more seniority that most of the folks there, and if they don't value that experience, then it's their loss.

There IS an exit survey in the eHR kiosk, which is most likely where to go especially since I don't even know if the new HR person they said we got is actually in yet since no one's said a word about her.

It's just that I wonder if half the things I complain about here are worth complaining about. "My co-workers smell!" Uhm... okay. "One or two of them are rude!" Well, even I've been rude to one or two others, but in general not to enough people to warrant a problem. "The damn music is obnoxious!" I may bring this up, particularly since it meant 1. pissing me off, and 2. being extra noise to filter out over all the other noise.

Mostly I think equipment is still the worst issue [LADDERS, and intercom volume in the four batcaves, though those were actually havens for silence].

Riddlewise: What I'd do is consult the map and/or GPS I would have brought along since anyone hiking who never did this route before would be mental to attempt it without some sort of guide. :3

Alternatively if you're versed in CSIs I suppose you could study how the sign fell and try to deduce how it was standing prior to the fall.

You don't know which path leads to Lavinia, but you DO know which one leads to Dandridge! Simply orient the signpost so the sign to Dandridge leads back the way you came.
