Introducing new British comedy "Newsroom" about the insanely complicated romantic relationships between the cast and crew of one of the UK's most popular newstations.
THE CAST:
David Tennant as Adrian Myers
Producer and the big boss. Adrian is strict but encouraging of his staff and is always full of witty remarks and inspirational speeches to encourage everyone to keep everything in top condition. He's a happily married man, but some dangerous flirting with the station's weather girl (Billie Piper) threatens to change that.
Damien Lewis as Daniel Mackenzie
The station's most popular presenter. The nation can't get enough of him, and neither can the girls! Daniel is quite the lady's man, and a bit of a sleazeball. The female crew members better watch their backs, in particular Daniel's newest co-presenter (Hannah Spearritt) who he currently has his eye on!
Hannah Spearritt as Amanda Levitt
Amanda is new to presenting and is taken by surprise at the luxuries of being on television, much to the dismay of some of her jealous work mates. She is a sweet and naive girl who has a major crush on her new co-presenter, Daniel, but nothing could ever happen between them or her job would be on the line.
Billie Piper as Abby Cartwright
Abby is the weather girl. She's not the brightest girl, but she has a big heart, and currently that heart desires her boss, Adrian Myers! A little harmless flirting can't hurt, but she soon realises she's in deeper than she first thought.
Kaya Scodelario as Angie Thomason
Angie is the newsroom's intern and Abby's best friend. She desires fame and fortune and feels some bitter jealousy towards her friend's successful television career whilst she works hard making tea and serving biscuits to the cast and crew. She also feels jealous of Amanda's promotion and decides to take revenge by bedding Daniel, the man she has such a crush on! Little does she know, however, that the right man for her is just right around the corner.
Ben Barnes as Oscar Carlyle
Oscar works as the boom operator and does the sound checks at the station. He's a shy, polite and sensitive soul who is often overlooked by his peers, including the lovely Angie Thomason who he has been in love with ever since her first day.
Iddo Goldberg as Oliver Bloom
Oliver is the cameraman at the station. He recently broke up with his long-term girlfriend Eleanor (Lenora Crichlow), who dumped him when she discovered he was bisexual and fancied fellow crew member Oscar Carlyle (Ben Barnes). Broken hearted, Oliver distracts himself by trying to convince his ex and best friend Amanda (Hannah Spearritt) that making a move on her co-presenter Daniel would be disasterous.
Lenora Crichlow as Eleanor Kerridge
Eleanor is the make up artist at the station and she is probably the most headstrong person there. She's witty and sarcastic, and bites her tongue whenever Daniel Mackenzie makes passes at her during his make up session, although inside she is dying to tear him a new one. She's had her heart broken before, so ended things with her last boyfriend Oliver and beds the show's editor, Eric, just to make him jealous. This backfires on her though, as Eric wants something more serious. But when she starts seeing him with Abby, she begins to change her mind.
Aidan Turner as Eric Taylor
Eric is the show's editor and can be found hidden away in the editing room. He enjoys sports and fooling around, and has strong feelings for the make up artist, Eleanor. After their one night stand, however, she doesn't want things to get any more serious, and so he turns his affections to the beautiful weather girl, Abby, instead.
