But what if a sudden announcement of their engagement was set upon them? What will happen to their friendship? Is Jin going to love Kazuya back or he’ll leave Kazuya just like what he did to his girlfriends?

Kame was on his way to his office that morning when he noticed his secretary shaking his head anxiously as he stared at the girl who just got inside Jin’s office.
“Maru? What’s wrong? You seemed troubled.” Kame asked curiously.
“O-Oh! Kamenashi-san! Ohayo!” Nakamaru jumped up, surprised of Kame’s sudden appearance.
“Maru… just Kame, okay? Drop the formalities already or I’ll go find another secretary.” Kame joked but the older man took it seriously.
“E-Eh?!” Nakamaru stared wide eye at the younger man. Kame chuckled as he saw the older man’s expression.
“Relax Maru! I’m just kidding! Anyway, who’s that?” Kame asked strangely.
“Ow! I’m glad, I thought I’ll be fired… mm… Who?” The older man heaved a deep sigh and asked back.
“The girl you were staring earlier.”
“Ow… that’s Koizumi Kyoko, from accounting department.” Nakamaru said forwardly.
Kame furrowed his eye brows curiously. “Why is she here? I haven’t heard any problem from that department. Jin didn’t even tell me anything.”
“I think it’s personal, Kamenashi-san. She was crying earlier, Akanishi-kun was even shocked when she suddenly hugged him. I think it’s serious.” Nakamaru shook his head again, unaware of Kame’s sudden annoyed face.
“Well, Kamenashi-sa- Eh? He’s gone?” the older man turned to his boss but met with silence.
Kame abruptly slammed the door closed, almost ripping it into two. He walked to his table and hurriedly grabbed the phone and called Jin.
“Kazu… I’ll call you back. Give me a minute,” Jin dismissed him with a hurried don’t-disturbed-me tone. The younger man put the phone down irritably.
After 30 minutes, Kame gave up and called Nakamaru. He asked the older man if the girl already left, but the other man just shook his head. He grabbed the phone and called Jin again. “Jin, could you come-”
“Kazu, I said I’d call you back,” The older man said annoyed.
“Well, I already gave you a minute! 30 minutes already passed! You didn’t call back!” Kame replied back angrily.
“I’m in the middle of something important.”
“I bet you are!”
“Whatever it is you want to discuss with me can surely wait.”
Kame clenched his hands; one thing he doesn’t like is being ignored especially by Jin. A burning jealousy is eating him up.
“No! It can’t! This is urgent! What can be more important than-hello? Hello?” the younger man was shocked when the line was cut. “DAMN IT! That Bakanishi! He hanged up on me! You’ll pay for that, Jin! ARGH!”
Because of his jealously, Kame can’t concentrate on his work. He kept on staring at his desk full of paper work. He even called his secretary for coffee numerous times.
“Kame, you’ll get nervous breakdown if you continue drinking too much coffee.” Nakamaru said, staring at Kame worriedly as he put down the third cup of coffee of the younger man. The younger man noticed it and apologized.
“Is the girl still talking to Jin?” Kame asked again, before Nakamaru reached the door.
“Yeah, I haven’t seen her leaving yet.” The older man answered before leaving the room.
Kame frowned. He was still in deep thought when YamaPi, his boyfriend entered his office.
“Kame-chan~ what’s wrong? What’s with the scowl face? Did you lose some business deals?” YamaPi chirped in jest as he bounced in front of Kame who was a bit taken aback of the unexpected appearance of his boyfriend.
“O-Ow. You’re here, YamaPi. You surprise me. What brought you here?” He tried to sound happy and excited though his heart is in vain.
“Eh? You don’t look surprised. Hmp~ Tough day ne?” YamaPi whined but asked worriedly anyway.
“Yeah, I guess, I am. I-“ Kame was about to continue when the door opened. Jin walked in swiftly towards his desk.
“At least, knock first before storming in.” Kame hissed but the older man ignored what he just said.
“All right, what is this very important thing you wanted to discuss with me that you can’t wait for a couple of minute?” Jin asked furiously. The older man looked down at his paper works.
Kame was shocked; it’s very rare to see the older man got angry like this. He panicked; he tried to think of an excuse.
“Well?” Jin waited impatiently, staring at him with bored eyes as he crossed his arms.
He looked away and tried to think of an answer. “W-We have to talk about the location of our new branch at… Shibuya.” He stuttered.
“Is that what you called urgent? We can talk about that later. It’s not that impor-”
“And what’s important, Jin? Soothing your damsel in distress, inside your office? That’s more urgent, huh? But then again, knowing you, that must be your priority than anything.” Kame snapped back angrily.
“What?” Jin was taken aback. “I was only trying to help Koizumi-san.”
“I’m sure you were. That’s the problem about you, you always helped people especially girls who’s crying in front of you.”
“There’s nothing wrong in helping others,” the older man replied back furiously.
“The problem is, we’re not a charitable institution. For Pete’s sake, Jin, this is an office! Will you stop entertaining your helpless girlfriends here in the office?”
“Koizumi is OUR employee. She’s not my girlfriend!” Jin snapped angrily.
“Oh come on, Jin! Who’s going to believe that? You’re so busy talking with her about something that you don’t even want to be disturbed!”
Jin heaved a deep sigh; he looked up and turned to YamaPi.
“Would you talk to your boyfriend, Pi? He’s so engross in putting me into his bad mood. I didn’t do anything bad.”
YamaPi patted Jin’s shoulder. “Relax, Bakanishi. Who’s that Koizumi anyway?”
“She’s an employee here. She’s working here from when my dad and Kame’s dad still in here ‘til now.” Jin said firmly as he stared deeply to Kame.
“Is she pretty, Jin? You can introduce me to her.” YamaPi joked.
“Yeah, pretty for a forty-eight years old woman.”
“F-Forty-eight?” Kame gasped. He was shocked.
“Oh. Souka, So, what’s her problem?” YamaPi asked curiously.
“Her husband is very ill and needs urgent operation. They really need big money. So, I called her up to lend her some money for the emergency operation.”
Kame went pale, he felt his chest tight and he can’t utter a word. He stared blankly at Jin who gave him a sad and upbraid look before the older man left. He can’t help but felt guilty of his sudden acts.
You are so stupid! Kamenashi Kazuya! You let your jealousy eat you up again! You don’t even have the right to get jealous to begin with! Kame blamed himself angrily and silently.
“Kame-chan, what’s wrong with you? You shouldn’t be like that,” YamaPi lectured him.
Kame lowered his head in guilt. “I know, I said harsh things but, It’s his fault too. He’s always entertaining his woman here and out of the office, you can’t blame me not to get mad about that.” Kame reasoned out.
“Why are you affected?” the older man asked curiously.
“I’m just thinking about the rumors that might spread outside. That’s not good for the company. It’ll destroy the company’s reputation. And you know there are so many people here who have dirty minds.”
“Yeah, many people. And you’re the president of them,” YamaPi shook his head. “Both of you have known each other for a long time, you shouldn’t accuse him badly. He just wanted to help out.”
“Are you taking his side instead of your boyfriend?” Kame asked in disbelief. But he knew he’s being unreasonable, he just can’t admit it.
“Kame-chan… I’m not taking his side. It’s just that, he’s right and you’re wrong. That’s just simple.” YamaPi explained.
They fell silent. After one hour, Kame’s gloominess didn’t vanish after the exchange harsh words with Jin. Unknown to the younger man, YamaPi is silently observing him.
“Kame?” YamaPi called out.
“Hmm?” the younger man answered back as he stopped and lifted his head to look at YamaPi.
“What do you love about me? I mean, if you really do love me.”
Kame decided to stop what he’s doing. He stood up, walked towards his boyfriend and sat beside him.
“Hey, what brought this up?” Kame asked worriedly. “Of course I love you. No questions about that.”
“Kame, I…” YamaPi began. Kame noticed YamaPi’s anxiety. “I’m sorry, Kame… You and me, it’s never going to work,” the older man said dejectedly.
Kame gaped. Did he heard him right?
“Are you… are you breaking up with me, YamaPi?” he asked with hurt tone.
“Y-yes.” YamaPi looked down; trying hard to prevent his tears from falling. He knew this is the right choice.
“W-why a-all of a s-sudden?”
“N-no, Kame… I-I’ve… I’ve been thinking this all over these past few days. But now, I-I’m sure about this decision.”
“Look, if this is about the scenario earlier between me and Jin, don’t worry, okay? I admit it’s my entire fault. I promise you that I’m going to apologize to Jin right away.”
YamaPi shook his head.
“Okay… it’s my attitude, isn’t it? I promise, I’ll stop being childish and stubborn. I’m usually not like this, YamaPi, I don’t know what came over me. Must be the weather or the workload… I guess, I’m just too tired that’s why I’m being cranky lately.”
“Didn’t you notice anything about yourself?”
Kame was confused. “Notice, what?”
“Your jealousy is killing you, Kame.”
Kame was stunned.
“Wha-what? T-that’s not true.” Kame defended. “A-and, to whom did you expect me to get jealous?”
“That Koizumi for one.”
“N-no, that’s not true. Why would I get jealous to that woman?” Kame looked away from YamaPi.
“Admit it, Kame, you were jealous of that Koizumi as much as you were to those women surrounding Jin.”
“Y-YamaPi, that’s not true. Take that back.”
“No, Kame, I’m trying to tell you the truth. Why can’t you accept it? Didn’t you notice? Whenever there’s a woman entering Jin’s life, you’re the one who reacts first. You’re mad at them ‘coz the truth is… you want Jin to notice you not them.”
“S-stop. P-please s-stop, Y-YamaPi.” Kame can’t hold his tears anymore.
“You don’t have to pretend anymore, Kame. I understand you, the situation. You like Jin. No. You LOVE Jin.”
Kame shook his head as tears keep on falling on his delicate cheeks.
“P-pleas don’t do this, YamaPi…”
“W-We were just delaying the inevitable. W-we both know that we’re going to end up like this so I-I guess it’s better this w-way.” YamaPi said, trying himself not to hug and soothe the younger man. He really loves Kame, but he knew he’s not the one Kame love but Jin.
Kame just stayed silent but he’s tears are still falling uncontrollably.
“Face the truth, Kame. I will never be good enough for you no matter how hard I try. Nobody will ever be good enough for you… ‘c-coz Jin is the one you love.”
Kame felt like he’s being stabbed in the heart every time the older man talked. He knew YamaPi is right.
“Y-YamaPi, I like you. I-It’s not t-true.” Kame looked up and cupped YamaPi’s face.
“I-I guess, you have liked me, Kame. But you don’t LOVE me as much as I love you.” The older man slowly put Kame’s hand away.
“If you don’t love me anymore, just tell me. Don’t accuse me of anything that is not true.” Kame stared at YamaPi with tears in his eyes, he firmly defended himself again. Trying to convince the older man that what he’d just said isn’t true, that he didn’t love Jin. But he knew he’s just convincing himself not YamaPi.
“I’m not accusing you of anything, Kame. You know that. I am merely trying to open up your eyes to the truth. Even if you wouldn’t realize it now, I hope you’ll come to terms with your true feelings for Jin someday.”
Kame slowly lowered his head. He can’t take this anymore.
“I hope one day Jin would realize what a lucky guy he is for having your love, Kame.” YamaPi said sincerely.
A pair of hand cupped Kame’s face and lifted it. “Kame,” YamaPi began as a tear fall in the older man’s cheek. “I’ll always be your friend. I will always here for you, don’t forget that, okay? Though… I need space for now.” YamaPi smiled weakly before he hugged Kame tightly and kissed him on the cheek for the last time.
“I’ll miss you, Kame-chan~” YamaPi stood up and left.
Kame was left crying.
Because of depression, Kame focused himself to his work. He worked over time until midnight. When he got home, he slept with a tear in his eyes. A tear that indicates his sadness because of what had happened between him and YamaPi, and his helpless love to Jin.
