Okay, so I vanished from LJ pretty much entirely for a month or so. There were reasons, none of them good ones. In any case, the main one - a complete lack of energy - seems to have been at least temporarily dealt with ( Read more... )

It would appear that I am indeed coming to dinner, but Dave is not (as it's a work night for him).

ETA: About the SM I was burning for you. Was I supposed to do everything from R on, or S? I have forgotten somehow.

Stupid question, but are you taking Vitamin D? After my last physical my doctor told me I was seriously low, so I'm now taking 2000iu every day, and an extra 1000iu tablet if I feel I might be coming down with something. I don't usually suffer from seasonal depression, but I have friends who do and who swear by D tablets.

For me, I've noticed that this is the first winter I didn't get really sick at ALL. Usually I get at least 2 really nasty colds every winter. PLUS my allergies have hardly been bothering me at all this spring so far. *knocks on wood*

For me, the problem appears to be in my C levels, rather than D. I have tried D for my lack-of-sun exhaustion in the past, and it never made much of a difference either way. But changing the amount of vitamin C I'm getting (via the fruit)... there's a noticeable difference.

Honestly, I haven't got a clue why any of this happens, or why the fruit is what's helping it. I'm just glad that it is.

I think the main way to tell when a papaya is ripe is when it's firm to the touch, not hard.
