Holy cow. It's been a whirlwind of a summer.  I took my kids down to Florida for a week where we stopped at the Dali museum on the way to Seaworld (spent 13 hours at Seaworld) and then stopped to see Snooty the manatee at the SW Florida museum on the way back down. Yeah, Ghostbusters, seeing it again when you are older (and more wiser) you definitely notice the sexism and everything else *wants an all female ghostbusters, also Wonderwoman while they're at it*

Well, more like the other way 'round. We had one day to see the park. I was going to make the most of it. Everyone was pretty flat the next day except me. It hit me the day after that.

Ugh. And it's so dated. I hope newer movies have better narratives, but suspect they really don't.

ALL FEMALE GHOSTBUSTERS with a better plot would rock!! Bring back Annie Potts to play one of the ghostbusters. and Sigourney Weaver while we're at it. And then two younger women... Scarlett Johansen maybe?

We need a Wonder woman movie so bad. Not even funny.

This is the problem isn't it - they want new movies to be exactly like the old ones.

I AM gearing up for Outlander, just caught up on the 3rd episode last night - its SO GOOD!!!
Have you read the books? (I haven't, but I'm interested now, or would they ruin watching????)

Are you a Dr Who fan? You have feeling about Moffatt? What I'm wondering, is if women are so fed up with him, why do they keep watching his show?

EEEEE. I have read all the books except the newest. I don't think it would ruin the show. There is a pretty awful non-con scene in book one that I doubt will get shown on tv, but they should allude to it. Might be better to read it to prepare yourself, in fact, if you can read that fast.

How is the job search going? My kids go back to school on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to the schooltime rhythm.

I envy all the traveling you got to do this summer! Sounds whirlwind, but a lot of fun, too. :) Hope school is off to a good start for both your kids! What grade is DD2 by now? Fourth? O_o

Oh god, it was amazing and also A LOT of travel.

Thanks! They go off bright and early in the morning tomorrow. Also, we are finally done with half day Mondays, so I'm feeling very excited for that (although we miss it this week).

DD2 is starting 4th grade, you got it!

Are half-day Mondays just for lower (K-3) grades, or did your school abolish the policy altogether?

Would love to see a current (maybe First Day?) photo of them at some point; I'm sure they've changed a lot lately!

Nope. Half day Mondays were for the Elementary school. They did away with them because they were stupid they realized they could go by hours instead of days and not worry about snow days.
