More chickens

Ok, so, we ended up with 8 live chicks. 2 tried to hatch, but never made it out of the egg. I don't know what happened. :( One has curled toes. I think it's a sort of birth defect. But seems fine otherwise. I'm honestly shocked that we got any. The temperature was really hard to manage this time. So, here's a pic of them from earlier.

Btw, I did get your email about J, and, YES! I'm delighted for the contact info. I lost any way to contact her while she was in Vienna, so I literally haven't communicated with her in 8 years.

I don't understand what happened with the chicks that didn't get out. It bugs me. I am not super upset about it given that I was worried that any would hatch, but yeah, it's a little sad.
