To do

Sep 21, 2013 10:11

I am so unfocused today, I'm going to try to post a to do list.

laundry (at least 2 loads)
clean up kitchen
mow (maybe just the front yard; I can put off the back until Wed I think) (WHOLE THING POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN AND DIZZINESS)
family meeting
something with fabric (mermaid maybe?)
get colonoscopy prep stuff
fill car with gas
cook brussel sprouts, ( Read more... )

life, to do, update, recs, health

I think the worst part of the colonoscopy was the prep. Having to take the medication and then dealing with going to the bathroom so much (and all the voiding pains that go with it) was just ugh. Afterwards, I felt fine. No problems with the anesthesia. I woke up and went home.

I enjoy new shows - but falling in love with them. Never again.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to hear that the after effects were no issue.

Yeah. I don't know that I will ever fall in love with a show again. *sigh*

I didn't have any voiding pains, but I had bad gas pains after the procedure. I guess they put air in you and if you are short/small, you have more curves and it's harder to get the air out. Ugh.

I am still feeling dopey/sleepy three days later. I'm tired of this.

Ooh, I really enjoyed Sleepy Hollow. The hot lead actor helped tremendously, but I enjoyed all of it. I'm not in fandom territory at all, not sure if I will ever be, but it's definitely on my regular watch list already.

Colonoscopy prep is the worst, because it's so inconvenient and...urgent. I don't remember there being any pain, just yuck. I felt fine afterwards, although I do remember falling asleep during a movie at a friend's house. It could be because I asked them to give me anti-nausea medication. I was worried the anesthesia would make me sick (I'm pretty emetophobic).

Did you get a chance to read that Dave Barry article about his colonoscopy experience? Puts a good spin on it :D

OMG, hot actor is hot. And adorable. It's just .. maybe not my thing? I'll try it for a while.

I'm not looking forward to being unavailable, really. I hear that drinking lots of water helps with the cramping issue. I'm a little worried about the after effects of the anesthesia. Hoping for just sleepy:D

I did! It was hilarious, but it didn't make the experience sound good, if you know what I mean. :D

A colonoscopy and a bone marrow donation are my only experiences with surgery/surgical procedures. In both instances I expressed my worries about the effects of the anesthesia, and they said they'd give me something to counter it. I'd definitely recommend telling them your worries; I'm sure they'd be willing to do something to allay your fears.

I'd rather just throw up and be done with it than take something else, to be honest. But thanks for the advice! It's good hearing from everyone about their experience.

Ohhh, Sleepy Hollow! Hot actor is Hot, and Abbie is REALLY AWESOME!!! I'm not one who can watch gory horror shows like Supernatural, or Hannibal & American Horror Story; so I was surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did. Like you guys, I don't know that I trust the show. I was watching Teen Wolf but while I liked the stars in it, the subject didn't grab me--there more for the fic and character interaction than plot, definitely. I was SOOOO disappointed with how the writers ended Merlin that it took months before I could even touch the fandom again ( ... )

OMG, hot actor is hot. And adorable. Right?

:( I know the feeling, regarding Merlin. I have two works I want/need to finish and then I will probably be done with it. We'll see.

I've got rides lined up, no problem there.

LOL! I didn't know I posted about laundry so much. I feel like I do a lot less laundry than most people, to be honest. It's just, when it needs to be done, it really needs to be done!

My dad had a colonoscopy a while ago, the prep was OK, but afterwards felt vague and dizzy for a while (same with having a hernia operation, the anesthetic just knocked him around)

I watched Sleepy Hollow and really enjoyed it, the guy's cute, (also watched Orphan Black which is good too) so while these are on the tv watching list, I don't think I'll be falling into fandom, like Merlin, yep, I think once bitten twice shy.
..
ooh, and I've finally caught up with all of Dorian Gray, My god they're good!!

:( Ugh. Yeah, I'm a little worried about feeling yucky *after* the anesthesia. I guess I just have to do it and see what hapens.

Seriously. Once bitten, twice shy is a perfect way to put it. I might be falling for Zane Donovan who was in a show on Syfy that ended last year. Good job self!

I love the Dorian stories, but I think I liked S1 better. I can't decide if I should spring for the special that is coming out later.

I think the older you are the more the anesthesia can affect you

I think its mature of us to be wary *nods* , thats my story anyway

Is that the special where they are doing the book? yeah, I'm not sure about that one either.

I just always have issues with drugs.

LOL. Yeah, we're super mature!

No. They are doing a Halloween special. I think I'm skipping the audio book version.

Good luck with the colonoscopy stuff. I know I should do it too. blergh

Sleepy Hollow - What do you mean, not geeky enough? What's a "geeky" show? sci-fi as opposed to horror? I'm definitely sticking with it for the time being because I can't resist Tom Mison and it seems fun. I like shows with mysteries and mythologies. Don't know if I'll feel fannish about it though (i.e. wanting to read fic). I need a slash couple for that and I don't see one yet.

Thanks! I'll report back when I'm done and demystify it for you. Blergh indeed. I was having nightmares last night that I ate the wrong stuff and they made me reschedule. I am not worried about the procedure, but the prep! I don't want to have to do it more than once!

Yeah, not enough sci-fi stuff. I don't like horror. I don't like creepy shows. Or lots of violence. So, we'll see. Tom Mison is pretty irresistible, isn't he? At the moment, I don't see any pairings, but we'll see how it goes.
