A day

Sep 10, 2013 20:00

I left the house before 9am this morning. Didn't even have time to clean up the kitchen before I left! Kids got their own breakfast (without too much complaining) and their own snacks.  Yay.  We are on a roll.  I got home after 4:30.  Nearly passed out in the heat.   Must get a/c in car fixed.   Have spent the time at home in bed, menstruating.

quilting classes are always fun! I know I learn a lot even if I don't use the techniques afterwards.

Ditto. That's why I take them:D I am sure her influence will come through in my future work. Actually, she's going to be up in NJ somewhere this weekend I think. It's not showing on her website though. She was good, but if you have other things going on, you can probably catch her some other time. You've taken classes from some really awesome people.

Those are amazing tshirts for sure.

Color theory is interesting, absolutely. Well, it is in my line of work, that is. Also headache-inducing at times. Haha.

Take care. <3

Talk to me about colors! The biggest thing I learned today is that the horizon is lighter and things in the distance are more faded than things up closer. Also, starting with a dark sky made my piece much darker than I would have chosen to do otherwise. This will make more sense when I post a picture:D

What fun. I love the fabrics you use - are they considered unconventional?

Eek, get your AC fixed, that sounds miserable. It was so hot and humid yesterday.

Hmm, my mood theme doesn't have 'crampy.' haha

Okay, I have to admit, I wanted to whole middle of that wing!fic story and I also wanted to know more about the wings and birds, etc., but your coda was lovely. Glad you'll be working on not!PL and you're probably better off not doing it as part of PL anyway. Although the good thing about it was having a deadline.

Yeah, I think I'm on the more creative side when it comes to placement of fabrics :D Wait until you see my landscape!

Ugh, must do that today. It's too hot not to have a/c in the car.

LOL. Mine doesn't either. I just put it in. I put "crappy" in and type in crampy.

Well, who knows what will happen in the revision process. More may come out! You can hope. You can even prod, given that you are beta'ing:D

The deadline was what killed me. I think I work better with internal deadlines rather than externals.

I didn't know you could just type in your own mood and keep the picture. Cool.

Deadlines are a mixed bag for me. I might not finish something long without one. Or even with one. But it is stressful too. Then when the posting comes, I stress out because I'm not popular. I feel like nobody reads my fics in the context of a fest. If you're not rec'd, popular, or super talented, no one cares. When I've been rec'd, it's usually long after something's posted, weirdly. I'm kind of down on fests now because they usually just make me feel bad and have a crisis of confidence, so what's the point. When I see people say in their A/Ns, "I had a great time participating in this fest," I wonder what the hell they're talking about. I guess I don't enjoy writing that much, in some ways, to say "I had a great time," just based on writing a fic.

long comment is long

:) Heh, that's me, always bending the rules.

Well, I am not sure what it will take for me to finish this thing. I am hoping that with the right support I can just do it. At least I'm writing again and that feels GOOD.

I feel you on the fest thing. I'd rather just write on my own.

Long comment is totally fine. <3
