A day
I left the house before 9am this morning. Didn't even have time to clean up the kitchen before I left! Kids got their own breakfast (without too much complaining) and their own snacks. Yay. We are on a roll. I got home after 4:30. Nearly passed out in the heat. Must get a/c in car fixed. Have spent the time at home in bed, menstruating.
As for the class, it was very interesting. I set up my machine, but never got a chance to use it. I could have, but I decided to work on my trees instead and glue them on prematurely. I will post pics tomorrow. The instructor was Gloria Loughman and she was great. I can never do the "easy" thing, so then I wasn't happy with what I had (I thought it was sort of muddy looking), but the trees saved it. Yay for trees! Maybe I can add a bird or something that will help even more. It was good though. I learned a lot about elements in landscapes and colors and how they work. I've been working with colors for years without any theory behind it, so it was good to learn about the theory:D I might even buy myself a color wheel. I definitely need to work on some monochromatic quilts too. That will be a HUGE challenge for me. And someone remarked at the end of the class that I like unconventional fabrics or something (she remembered what I had done in a previous class where everyone else had used pretty solid prints and I had novelty prints and batiks and even some Asian metallics in there:)). LOL. Yep, that's me!
So, now I'm around for the foreseeable future. Hurray! I am going to be churning out quilts for the show in December and working on my not!PL Mordred fic. I think rocknvaughn is going to do buddy checks with me. Anyone else want to join us? I think I'm going to need some accountability.
Also, my Mordred wing!fic is "done". I posted a coda yesterday on camelot_drabble . I am going to polish it up and post it on AO3 at some point too.
