People are not observant

Nov 21, 2012 19:57

So, I've just come to the conclusion that people are not paying attention.  I just got a very sweet review on ff.net on the fic I posted today and the person said she can't wait to see what happens next.  Um, trouble is, I am a mean old bitch and I have no intention of following up on the awful cliffhanger I left it with ( Read more... )

Hahaha! People do that to me all the time! I love it when they "follow" a story that has "complete" as its status!

Ok, to be fair, this story ends on a terrible cliffhanger, but it was finished in my mind. I could see how one would think there would be more to this one. But yeah, I've had people follow "completed" fics on ff.net and I don't get that at all.

In reverse, I have a WIP that I fully intend to return to. If you check my profile on ffnet it says very clearly that the fic is on hiatus but I will be finishing it one of these days. On AO3, it says it right in the story. So, last chapter I posted ended on a cliffhanger and recently I started getting reviews complaining about the cliffhanger ending to the fic *snickers*

In fairness, I haven't updated in a year but still, it's clear to anyone who looks that it's a WIP!

Just let me reveal my inner geek and ask you "The 1rst or the 4th movie?"

Good god. Depends on how you count, but to me, the first movie is the one that came out in 1977 and that's what we are watching. The prequels, the ones that came out in the late 90's do not exist to me:D We are purists about our geekery here.

I hope you are going right back to bed after this.

Yapp, the 1st one is the 4th one for me as well.

I will be up 10 more minutes. Then I hopefully will have forgotten the dream that woke me up.

'night!

We do geekery right in our house.

Sleep well, bb.

I've received that reaction more often than I can say. It's annoying but I choose to interpret it as a complement - that I left them wanting more rather than bored with the fic. As someone who's also left reviews like that, I'll say it's fiendishly easy to do, particularly if the archive tends to get a lot of WIP's. I'm sure they didn't mean anything by it.

*hugs*

:) I was not annoyed at all. I am sorry if I came across that way. I was thrilled that someone wanted more of the story, I just have no intention of going further with it, but the muse will sometimes force my hand... :D

Thanks! :::hugs:::

They just got these Japanese erasers and they've been playing with them non-stop with their legos. I have no idea what they do with them, but it keeps them occupied and happy:D

I am hoping that DD1 will finish her quilt that she started. I need to help her with that.

They both like to sit and read and read and read, so that will be good too. Tomorrow we have friends coming over in the afternoon and there is a craft show we go to over the weekend too. It will be low key which is good since it's been a while since we've done low key.

:) It really is. As long as they aren't hungry or too tired, they get along beautifully. LOL at your Caribbean Legos marooned on the stairs. Thank god we don't have stairs on the "living" level. I'm sure ours would be littered with Legos too. Stairs only go to the basement here which is where the adult play stations are (workshop and quilting space:)).

Oh, these are special erasers. I don't know if they actually erase anything. They are cute little shapes. Animals, people, fruits, desserts, etc.

I get that a lot on ff.net and all my stories are clearly marked as Complete. :)

I can understand people following stories that are not complete (it's a way of marking a story without having it on your favorites list), but the comment had me flummoxed. It was very sweet though. And who knows, the muse might ask me to write more about that story.

My head is delightfully empty of stories today, so I'm hoping to spend that time quilting instead.
