OMG, squee

Nov 13, 2012 20:15

Look what I did.  I'm ridiculously excited about how the Anger quilt looks.  The phoenix is not quite done.  Just a little more and then it will be done.  I have put them both in the  finished quilts album, even though it's a little bit cheating:D

Looks great. I've been offered a sewing machine (only used once or twice) that comes with a quilting attachment, you might inspire me!
Well, it will be nice to have a machine not posessed by gremlins at any rate!

Awesome! Have fun with it. So nice to work with a machine that just does what you want it to.

I think one of the reasons I'm so excited about these is that I used a metallic needle and the thread didn't snap once! Also, I love that iridescent thread a little too much, maybe.

aahh yes, needles that don't break *casts mind back to last curtain-making attempt*

Well, the needle wasn't breaking. It was the thread. I have had needles breaking recently, but thank god that seems to have stopped.

You make me wish I could sew!! Actually, you make me wish I could quilt,I already wish I knew how to sew. My bestie and I are trying to teach ourselves so we can sew our own period clothing and stop bankrupting ourselves buying Steampunk and Renaissance garb ;-)

These are both fantastic!!

LOL. Sewing and quilting are two different endeavors entirely. I can't sew clothing very well, but quilts, I do ok;)

Steampunk garb -- SO MUCH FUN! I was trying to get DD1 into making Steampunk jewelry. Maybe she'll take it up yet.

Oh, and thank you! I'm just thrilled to bits with the sea urchin one. Phoenix needs some finishing touches and then she'll be done too!

I make the jewelry already :D The garb however can be quite pricey. Though we are pretty damn savvy shoppers, it would save us quite a bit (and/or let our money go further) if we could make the clothing ourselves. We've got some books and many videos on the subject, we will succeed one of these days! Baby steps...

The sea urchin came out wondeful and I can see the phoenix is going to be just as awesome!

Oh, right. I forgot that you make jewelry!

Yeah, the garb is awesome. I can see how sewing would help save money.

Thanks! I was so excited that switching to a metallic needle caused the iridescent thread to stay intact. Made my night, I tell you:D
