Dragon quilt progress

I've got the little bugger quilted.  This was my first time using a twin needle and it was a smashing success, if I do say so myself.  What was not a smashing success was the thread I used.  *facepalm*  I'm really happy with how it turned out, but there was much gnashing of teeth and ripping of stitches.  Invisible thread is, well, invisible and ( Read more... )

Thanks! I feel like the pictures don't necessarily do it justice (because I'm always in a hurry, for one). I will definitely have to take it outside and have someone hold it when it's done:)

I don't use invisible thread because it's always breaking on me. But if it works for you, well done.

I had heard bad things about invisible thread breaking, but I really didn't have any problems with it. I have tried other threads in the past and had problems with those as well (metallics), so I was thrilled that this experiment worked. Thanks!

I've had pretty good success with metallics but only after I used the right needle, the expensive thread from Sulky and sewed very, very slowly.

Which needle were you using? Maybe I never tried sewing slowly enough! There's a thought.
