It is inspired by The Scarlet Pimpernel but these are original characters. :) I just want to point this out before people would start thinking that they wouldn't understand it because they're not familiar with the Pimpernel series. This is totally a Merlin fic.

Also to answer your question I don't have much time to read nowadays (because I'm actually writing a lot for a change, lol) but in fanfic I like to read canon era adventure/drama (a little angst can't hurt:) stories. I read romance/slash too, sometimes even PWP (but not that often, depends on how it's written), but usually only Merthur. I don't really like to read modern AU, femslash, mpreg or very kinky stuff/BDSM. I prefer longer fics, over 10K sometimes even as long as 80K.
I'll get there. I'm trying to finish up the Mordred fic. Maybe even today. I'm actually writing even though I should be doing things like cooking and folding laundry.
