Dragon quilt update

I have been writing a lot more fic than sewing, and the main computer isn't playing nice with the flash card, so I haven't updated the dragon quilt progress album for a while.  But today, I worked on it for a while and I have new pictures to show you!  So, just hop on over to the album and take a peek.  I'll embed the last picture here.

♥ Thanks so much! Do you know the story behind this? I asked if someone would design a crop circle dragon for me, and skuares very kindly did so. So, the dragon is appliqued using raw edge applique. It took me forever to figure out what do to for the border, so I'm excited to be moving forward on this project. You do know that one of my favorite things is dragons, right?

Thanks! I can't rush quilting projects. Well, I can, but then I'm not happy with the results. I need to figure out the corners, but I have an idea in mind. I'll be working on it more tomorrow:)

Seriously. Dragons rock. I fell in love with Merlin first, but Kilgharrah is definitely a close second. And DD1 loves Aithusa:)

More or less. I did change it a little bit, but most people probably wouldn't notice. There will be some on the top and bottom too, I think. I need to work that out.

That is so gorgeous, jela! I adore the border!!! The quilt now also looks like a flag or banner.

I think you said this before, but is it going to be a hanging quilt? It just occurred to me that if you put it on a bed, the dragon would be sideways.

Thanks! It does kind of look like a flag at the moment, doesn't it? It will have more of the strips on the top and bottom too, I just need to figure that part out.

Yes, it's a hanging quilt. The dragon part is only about 20 inches square. He's not very big! Those little squares are 1 inch (well, most of them are) to give you a sense of the scale.

Oh wow. Okay. *readjusts* I had imagined this being huge, I guess just because of the subject matter, lol! Thanks for the added information.

It's going to be amazing when it's done. Where's it going to hang?

:) Yeah, there is no sense of scale. The original sketch fits on a 8x11 sheet of paper. I think I quadrupled the size, which was really only double. Or something.

I don't know where it's going to hang yet. I have to finish it and see where it might fit!

(by the way, did you see the comment I posted for you the other day which I screened? I am not sure if you get replies by emails or only by looking at entries. I put some links to pictures of me and the kids in it.)
