Also, I wanted to ask people about leaving comments.  I am wrangling this issue in my own mind.  Before I started writing, I think I was pretty haphazard about leaving comments.  Now

Re. commenting on fics: I don't usually notice who the author is, so that has little to no bearing on whether I leave a comment (I get a lot of my recs from MxA on LJ and BBC Merlin Newsletter, and I go by the plot outline, not the author

I leave comments on almost everything I read, even if it's a single sentence. I figure authors would rather have something than nothing. I don't have time to leave long comments, usually, since I'm so busy with things.

But even if it's years old, I will leave something.

Honestly, sometimes it's exhausting. I still haven't finished reading the paperlegends from last year yet! I love to read, don't get me wrong but sometimes I need to step away from it, too, and go do something else to clear my head.
