How about if I just talk about potty victories?:) I think DD2 has mastered the daytime potty experience. She has asked to go to bed in big girls panties, but I'm just not there yet. I'm giddy at the thought of a diaper free household. Giddy, I tell you. Or maybe it's just that school starts up tomorrow and I'm ready for a break. *Please God ( Read more... )

W00T! Go DD2!

(Although the "daytime potty experience" sounds like it ought to be an attraction at Epcot or something.)

When Maggie wanted to wear panties to bed we told her she had to have three (or maybe four) dry diapers in a row in the mornings and then she could try going diaper-free to bed. She had a couple of accidents in the first month or two, then did really well. She had an accident right before Christmas, probably due to a confluence of excitement and strongheadedness -- she thought she was pulling the wool over our eyes by lying to me about whether she'd used the potty before bed. Turns out she had to pay for that little lie a few hours later!

Thanks for doing the potty dance with me!

I have the same rule about dry diaper three nights in a row too. We'll see how it goes:)

DD1 had an accident the other day during the day. She waited a little too long and was so anxious that she forgot to pull down her panties before she sat down. Oops. I tried not to laugh in her face, but it still cracks me up. Use the potty a little sooner, kid, and you won't have that problem! LOL. Sorry that her little fib was your problem; I hope it happened before you went to bed!

It happened just after, at least we weren't asleep yet. Worked out okay. :)

Maggie's so crazy stubborn about using the toilet, she doesn't ever want to unless it's an "emergency." It's pretty funny to see her running through the house shouting "the poop is coming out my butt!" (Of course it will be a lot less funny when she doesn't make it to the toilet, but so far she always has.)

Have you seen, I think it is Dan in Real Life? The father is confused when of his kids tells him a bathroom is desperately needed because the poop is groundhogging -- you know, popping out and in!

Yay for potty trained kids and kid-free time. (It is blessedly quiet here right now.)

My kid-free time is about to end, but I've appreciated it! I'm getting some more this afternoon. I feel so blessed today.
