Discombobulated

I feel like I've been distracted and gotten nothing done today.  I did manage to cook rutabaga and tuna (separately) for dinner.  And I got the girls to clean up their blocks.  And I had them take a bath.  That's pretty much been the extent of my day ( Read more... )

A Clinton/Obama ticket seems bad to me too, only from the perspective that it's hard to believe two people who spent months dissing each other can suddenly be expected to work as cooperative partners. On the other hand, I wonder if either one might make a good Secretary of State for the other.

What's the school policy? The rule here is that the parent has to be standing there to pick the kid up (at school or the bus stop) unless you've notified them in advance that someone else will be doing that. However, there was a morning when I needed a neighbor mom (her son is in afternoon kindergarten) to walk Nina to the bus stop for me, and there was no red-tape hassles about that. Never heard any rules about Who Drops Off - only Who Picks Up.

Yeah, that's how I feel about Clinton/Obama too.

See, when I first enquired (a few months ago) about this issue, they told me to write a note, just in case. There didn't seem to be an official policy about it. Then, it seems like they made this policy up. It just annoys me. It doesn't really make any sense. *bristles at stupid rules*

The pick up thing makes sense.

if your kids will continue to ride a bus, i'm sure this will only be the first of many bus/pick up/drop off faux pas that you will experience. this has happened to me more times than i would like. tomorrow i will write of dd's hand in PEN, "no bus today!!!" so that i can pick her up and head to the rink. i also wrote it in her planner which will be checked by the teacher.

the worst was the day that i informed the teacher i would be picking her up, and reminded dd, thent he teacher sent her out with the walkers, and somehow she ended up on the bus anyway (while i was sitting out front in the car waiting for her.) so scary!
