I'm thinking maybe this week I will try those meatballs... didn't get around to it last week. Although we tried another recipe from that cookbook, for a grilled marinated whole chicken with tomatillo salsa. It was yummy.

The meatballs are yummy, although I need to tweak a little more. I substitute oats for the bread crumbs, by the way.

I used 3 lbs of meat this time and added a tablespoon of kosher salt. They definitely need salt.

I put chipotle peppers in both the meat and the sauce too. I didn't have enough this time to give it much heat, but it still adds a nice zip for the flavor:)

The recipe I got was from one of the food blogs I've linked to. Simply foods is the name, I think. I don't know if she did anything to the recipe or not.

Sounds like you are keeping busy. Hope you've been having some nice bonding time with SO:)

Not so much bonding time tonight, as he got home really late, and I need to have the alone down time before bed (i.e. on computer or reading).

*makes mental note to be sure there is salt in meatballs*

yummy food! I always make the menu plan without Ray. I sometimes ask him if he has any suggestions, but otherwise, since I do the shopping, the cooking and most of the cleaning up, I also do the planning and get to decide what we are eating. ;) But I think your dh does some of the cooking?

Yeah. I'm pretty excited about this week's menu. I love the skirt steak:)

DH does do some of the cooking. Between the two of us, he's a better cook. But I'm better at the everyday sorts of things. We make a good team.

I used to do more of the cooking (read: all), but when we switched to this way of eating, it required some help. He fixes veggies and does sauces and dressings and some fo the meat. He will actually do the lamb and the chickens (if I can get away with it:)). Actually, I don't know how he's going to have any time to cook this weekend given his busy project of trying to slap up a platform/landing on the back. We haven't had stairs out the back for a year now:P
