RIP Don Knotts

Don Knotts was one of my favorite actors when I was a kid. I clearly remember my dad taking us to see The Apple Dumpling Gang when we were little. He always made us laugh. RIP.

Heh - apparently we found out at the same time; I just posted the same thing. My first memory of him was a movie called "The Ghost and Mr Chicken".

I never heard of that one. I saw that the Apple Dumpling Gang came out in 1974. I was going to say that I didn't know how I saw it, but then I just remembered that the one I saw was The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again (big difference, there, right?:)). Not like any of it really matters.

And I still think of him as Andy Griffith's deputy in Mayberry. He was really good as the fish in... That cartoon. Wanda something? Never mind. He was a good soul and the world is the poorer for his absence.

Anyone hear Diane Rehm interview Art Buchwald? Not sure whether it's something to opine on, but noticeable.

A Fish Called Wanda? I didn't know he was in that movie.

I missed the Art Buchwald interview. But did you hear the Jules Feiffer interview? I sent in an email and they read it:)

No, Ichecked. Don Knotts wasn't in that one. I just remember him talking like a fish in some movie. I could be wrong. May hunt further.

I did hear the Jules Feiffer interview. What a nifty character!

I was so sad when I saw that the other night. :-(

Yeah, I was just thinking today how he was an icon of an era. At least for me he represented a certain innocence, especially in the entertainment sector, that seems to be completely gone now. Not that I would really know what's going on in the media at all today given that we have no tv and I make it roughly one movie per year.
