I think I'm getting backlash from too much "Robot Unicorn Attack", because I'm starting to get lonely for games with, y'know, *writing ( Read more... )

I played the MI games (1 and 2) when I was pretty young, so caveat caveat. I don't think you play Monkey Island for the story exactly, but I thought they were cleverly written. I can remember more specific lines of dialogue from MI3, and definitely remember liking the writing in that.

Example writing from MI1: "Hi, I'm Guybrush Threepwood, and I'm going to be a Mighty Pirate." Planescape: Torment they are not, but... ;)

Steam's got the Special Edition of MI1 and 2 on sale this weekend, probably ending 10 AM monday. I haven't played them beyond the demos, way back last century.
