Finding out that your favourite professor and presumptive dissertation advisor is leaving for Colorado next academic year; then on the same day, finally asking out the girl you've had your eye on all semester and having her say yes.

I just sort of noticed it had been five weeks since I updated this thing.

The main reason is that this term has been nuts. I'm in one more class than last time, and one of them - a logic course focussing on Godel's theorem - has been absolutely insane with homework. There is something after every class, and this is a normal course that runs three ( Read more... )

I've now got tickets and everything, so I can say with confidence that I'm coming back to Winnipeg on Friday the 22nd. I'm scheduled to touch down in Winnipeg at 3:53 PM and to stay a little more than two weeks - until early in the morning Sunday, January 7. I have just learned that experimental record label Soleilmoon's latest sampler CD is called "Irritating Music For Discerning Snobs Desperate to Impress Their Jaded Friends". That just rocks. Based on the title alone, I need this disc.
