You just broke my heart. Poor Spence! But what a great fic; I loved the way they figured out that Brendon is a secret musical genius through Rock Band. Of course, why not?

Of course Pete wants to fuck with Brendon's head and try to make him squirm. I also like him talking to Brendon on the phone, reminding him of his place.

Spencer being a nice guy as far as slave owners go, but he can't get Brendon out of that context in his head is great to see. All the slave fics I've ever read, the bandom characters are always the good guys, fighting against the oppression. It's really refreshing reading a fic in which some of the characters might not abuse their slaves, but they still keep them.

Yeah, that's basically the reason for this (and also for my hooker AU). There are a lot of fics out there in which the main characters are unrealistically moral. And that's fine, I get that realism isn't necessarily the point, and I am totally always up for some fluffy feel-good h/c or whatever. But sometimes I like exploring my characters' faults. I'm glad it worked for you, thanks for the comment!
