Oh, wow. I kind of adored this universe in the first story, and I love that you're going even deeper into the issues, with Brendon at the end, with Jon, with Spencer who is just starting to get it, all of it.

Not going to lie, Spencer kind of freaks me out in this story; he has so far to go. I'm pleased to hear you're extending it so he has a little more time to turn into a more aware human being.

Plus, your writing is incredibly deft, I love this Brendon and Ryan, and Jon will forever be my favourite. Poor kid. And the pizza! I'm hungry now.

This whole series is about Spencer, in my mind. I wanted to explore how our current society would be different if slavery still existed in it, and how things would be the same. I wanted to try to get into the head of a character who just hadn't thought to challenge the idea, like most people in the real world don't think to challenge pet ownership. I didn't want to portray him as a bad or malicious person, more as an oblivious person. I'm happy that you used the term "aware," because that means I got that across to some extent. It's been an interesting experiment, and the last part is gonna be hard to write. I'll let you know when I post it. Thanks for commenting!
