So for the record-no baby yet. However, the midwife was a little concerned yesterday because my BP is starting to climb a bit. I normally am about 90/60, and as of yesterday, I was 114/69. Which is still not HIGH, but it's high for me.

Everything appears to be fine other than that, but they're a little twitchy now, and would like me to think ( Read more... )

Hey there lady! Good luck and hang in there. It sounds like you've got a good team looking out for you--concerned, but not rash. That's definitely a positive.

Have you talked about having them break your water? When I started having contractions, we were pretty sure my water had broken (they found amniotic fluid and I'd felt a pop with liquid). Turned out it had merely sprung a leak. So I was contracting for a day and a half, making almost no progress and considering induction. Then they did an examination, saw that I wasn't fully burst, "snagged" the sac, and bam... a few hours later I was in the birthing pool screaming and crying and feeling like a scene in Aliens. :)

Anyway, not that you need unsolicited advice, but if you're not wanting to do chemical interventions, that might be worth a try first.

No matter what though, hopefully after tomorrow you'll have a definite end point--baby will be coming by X day whether it wants to or not!

I really do love my team-they're wicked supportive of everything I ask. The baby appears to be at an angle, which they're double checking tomorrow, which is a slight concern as well, and impacts my induction options. They feel like I'm riiiight on the precipice of proper labor, so they've offered a couple options ( ... )

Glad you've got a good midwife... I had one too when T was born. *sending you strength and good energy*

Those last few days just seem to go on forever, and then all of a sudden, baby arrives and there's no turning back; no way she'll fit back in (not that you really want her to, but Talis kept asking about that whenever I told her the story of her birth). ;-)

When a friend if mine was in this situation she was ready to start doing cartwheels doing Main Street until centrifugal force took over. Not that I'm suggesting you do that. :)
