I admire that you speak up frequently in class even when you worry that you're being less than brilliant. My problem is when I think I'm going to say something stupid, I just clam up and then I never get to air my thoughts.
Anyway, you know the randomest things make DWL shudder. He's so... himself, which is why I love his class! (And his mouth doesn't exclusively spout gems of wisdom, either.)

Talked to Charley today. He quit WoW for MCATS. That's dedication, right there. Anyhow, I asked him why he wasn't slaughtering masses of orcs or whatever in Burning Crusade and he said he was going to wait until the price of the expansion went down and then play. "Then when I run with people they will already have all of the phat lewts/fat loots so I can pick up all the good drops." And I realized that was smart, like waiting for a sale..

It's not a chemical addiction per say the way like, nicotine or caffiene works, but it essentially bops the same triggers in your brain/replicates the same feelings and reactions that make things addictive.
Just like how people can be addicted to porn, masturbating, gambling, or stealing.
Of course, no one thinks it can actually happen to them. "I am not weak enough to be addicted, yet I am and just won't admit it."
I think everyone has an "addiction" to something. It's only a danger when it heavily impairs normal functioning.
