Shipping meme day 8
So I had another bought of the mehs regarding this meme, partly due to computer spaz, partly due to this not being a question I really knew what to do with, and partly just due to mehs. So, onward...for the moment...probably inviting trouble with the next couple.
Day 8: A pairing only you seem to like
Hmm, while I tend towards smaller ships in some of my fandoms, and some of my other ships can be kind of divisive issues for fandom (and sometimes I ship the big stuff), I don’t really ship that many really unique things (outside of some of my crack and/or crossover pairings).
One fandom where my opinions run very counter to fandom trends is Veronica Mars though. It primarily stems from the fact that I never really liked Veronica/Logan, and lead me to like pretty much Veronica/anyone else. I have a definite soft spot for Veronica/Leo, enjoy some Veronica/Weevil, tend towards endgame Veronica/Wallace, actually do like Veronica/Piz, don’t dislike Veronica/Duncan for what it was, and would get behind Veronica/Mac quite happily. Just...not Logan.
And really, that is what has always kept me out of Veronica Mars fandom all these years. It seems like everyone ships them and expects that everyone else does too. I definitely get the feeling I’m the only person who actually got into Veronica/Piz to any degree, and it’s not like I hardcore shipped it, I just preferred it to LoVe. And as sometimes happens, going against fandom trends made me want it more than I probably would have on its own.
