Feb 24, 2014 01:19

So I had another bought of the mehs regarding this meme, partly due to computer spaz, partly due to this not being a question I really knew what to do with, and partly just due to mehs. So, onward...for the moment...probably inviting trouble with the next couple.

Well, you probably know who I ship on VM. That said, I share your soft spot for Veronica/Leo. They were very sweet and he'd absolutely be my second choice for her.

And really, that is what has always kept me out of Veronica Mars fandom all these years. It seems like everyone ships them and expects that everyone else does too.

I can't count the number of fandoms I feel that way about. So I get it. Sometimes you can enjoy the show but not the fandom because everyone takes shipping two characters for granted and you just... don't. So I'm sorry you've stayed out the VM fandom. :( But I definitely get why. The shipping can still, after all these years, be pretty brutal. Shippers are not always welcoming of those who disagree with them.

Most people do seem to ship it, and I never disliked it so much I felt up for making waves over it. I'll wear my Spike hate and Damon hate proudly and rant about it if given half a chance, but when it came to VM I was like '...I don't get it, but whatever I guess. I just don't have any interest in reading about it so I'll just...not bother.'

It's weird, because intellectually I do think Logan is a pretty well written and developed character if not the type I would ever be into, and I can ever sort of see why Veronica would be into him (sometimes) but emotionally I just could never really accept him.

(Stupid Guy if Gisborne ruining my ability to legitimately say I just don't do bad boys.)

I wouldn't say I have a thing for bad boys. I don't like them when they're exclusively bad. But, once they show a tiny bit of potential for redemption, I tend to adore them.

I think you can say that Guy of Gisborne is just the exception to the rule. Oddly, I didn't have a thing for him. I didn't get the whole Richard Armitage thing until I saw Strike Back recently.
