Ahh, subject selection. The bane of my existence xD;; Are you going to do Extension 2 English or Extension 1 in Year 12? o: And I'm assuming you want to do drama? o:

Recommend me some music? XDDD I'm obviously more needing than you are :P But yeah...have you listened to the Advent Children soundtrack? o:

Yay HP fanfic :DDD I did exactly the same thing (seriously, I have like...3 chapters of Lily/James written). Let me read it if you're done y/y? :D

i want to do drama, but i'm probably not. mainly because i don't think i am the best at it, so i think that changes things. :/

OMG..its so weird seeing you guys picking out y11 subjects already. It seems like just yesterday you were in yr7 =o

Anyway, I'd just like to make a correction.

ahhh so next week i have to pick subjects that will determine my last two years at school and the kind of degree i choose

Yes, your subject selection determines what you will study for the next two years, but it has NOTHING to do with what degree you will do in the future.

Majority of degrees (meaning all save one or two) don't have pre-requisites.

SERIOUS.

In yr12, I did Advanced English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Japanese.

In uni, I'm now doing a Commerce-Marketing degree, even though I've never ever did a commerce subject before...like not even commerce in yr9 like 3/4 of my grade did.

So in short, my advice is to pick out a bunch of subjects you enjoy and/or excel in.

And if you find that you don't like the subjects you pick, you can usually swap in something like the first month of yr11.

So don't worry about it too much!

And sorry for this long-ish comment

haha, i know, but it seems like it would kind of determine my future, you know? that or my careers advisor sucks. :/

i can't believe i'm going to be in year 11 next year either, it feels so surreal. woahhh. i still remember year 7 games day or something, where we just happened to meet up. :D it could have been year 8. whatever, technicalities. (:

haha, i swear everyone chooses commerce! it's like, the subject to do. i swear, there are only 20 of us or something who don't do commerce. it's kind of scary. :D

thank you for the advice cyn (:

I'm in college and I still have no idea what I'm gonna do D: Perhaps that was not very reassuring :X What I can say from experience though, will probably not be something you've never heard before, but I'm still gonna have to endorse going with what you like, and head towards your degree from there. It may not necessarily be something that you're best at, but I find that college will be a lot more fun if you're doing something you like rather than something you think will take you in the best direction.

I chose the latter and while I'm not exactly unhappy, I find myself often thinking about how much more I'd enjoy the study bit in college if I'd just gone with what I liked. Right, done putting my two cents in, but whatever it is, all the best in your *urgh* studies :))

hmmmm i see. i guess it's kind of hard to pinpoint what we want to do because there are so many occupations out there, and there are so many options! it kind of makes my head spin, but in a good way. (:

the do what you like option seems to ring true, as everyone i've asked has said the same thing! i just feel sorry for some of my friends who are forced into doing subjects they don't like, but i guess they do make the final decision in the end, so yeah. i have no idea what my point was there. but anyhowwww.

thanks for your advice! hopefully i will be able to choose something by next week (:
