Anyway, I'd just like to make a correction.
ahhh so next week i have to pick subjects that will determine my last two years at school and the kind of degree i choose
Yes, your subject selection determines what you will study for the next two years, but it has NOTHING to do with what degree you will do in the future.
Majority of degrees (meaning all save one or two) don't have pre-requisites.
SERIOUS.
In yr12, I did Advanced English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Japanese.
In uni, I'm now doing a Commerce-Marketing degree, even though I've never ever did a commerce subject before...like not even commerce in yr9 like 3/4 of my grade did.
So in short, my advice is to pick out a bunch of subjects you enjoy and/or excel in.
And if you find that you don't like the subjects you pick, you can usually swap in something like the first month of yr11.
So don't worry about it too much!
And sorry for this long-ish comment

i can't believe i'm going to be in year 11 next year either, it feels so surreal. woahhh. i still remember year 7 games day or something, where we just happened to meet up. :D it could have been year 8. whatever, technicalities. (:
haha, i swear everyone chooses commerce! it's like, the subject to do. i swear, there are only 20 of us or something who don't do commerce. it's kind of scary. :D
thank you for the advice cyn (:

I chose the latter and while I'm not exactly unhappy, I find myself often thinking about how much more I'd enjoy the study bit in college if I'd just gone with what I liked. Right, done putting my two cents in, but whatever it is, all the best in your *urgh* studies :))

the do what you like option seems to ring true, as everyone i've asked has said the same thing! i just feel sorry for some of my friends who are forced into doing subjects they don't like, but i guess they do make the final decision in the end, so yeah. i have no idea what my point was there. but anyhowwww.
thanks for your advice! hopefully i will be able to choose something by next week (:
