Rodney is... Rodney is... Rodney is. How can I properly put into words the GLEE that Rodney is? He's smug and snarky and too sure of himself and his knowledge and and and he's just awesome.
It's funny, looking at my first SGA post, because I say there that he's "probably the character that I have the least opinion on." But by the third episode, I was already really, really liking him, and now, he's just probably the bestest character on SGA in my opinion. And I love going back and watching his SG-1 episodes and seeing how much he's changed since then, and how much he hasn't as well. He's still an arrogant little bastard, but now he's a lovable arrogant little bastard.
I love his relationships with both Sheppard and Weir, and while they're my Atlantis OT3, I seriously actually ship Rodney with Sam. They're just so much fun together. They'd probably drive each other insane in the space of a day if they ever did get together, but it'd be awesome while it lasted, full of geekspeak and one-upmanship.
Dick & Babs is something I just don't question cos I don't remember ever not shipping them. It's just always seemed natural, wanting the original Robin and Batgirl to get together, you know? And then they did and I was happy, especially since Ballistic Romance was good. And then they broke up and I was sad. And then they got engaged and I was postively squeeful. And then...well, we don't know what's happened between them yet OYL, so we'll see where my emotions go.
I feel like I can't really go indepth about why I love Dick/Babs so much, because, like I said earlier, it's not something I really think about. It's just something that is. And that makes it different from a lot of other pairings I ship, because I do like to think about them a lot and rationalize why I like them over another pairing. With Dick and Babs, though, in my head, they just simply are. No other explanation is needed.
Comic. It was a two-part storyarc within a much larger storyarc, I think Nightwing issues 38-39 or thereabouts. It's where they officially more-or-less got together. =D
...my god, I am such a bad Y the Last Man fan because I sat here for a bit, going, "Yorick who?" I mean, if you'd just mentioned "Yorick," I'd probably have had a 50/50 chance of knowing just who you were talking about, but the inclusion of his last name totally threw me off since I never think of him like that.
And I am also a bad Y... fan because I'm, like, over half a year behind on the comic. So, it's been forever since I reread the series, and since I have a bad memory like...well, something really bad, it's all really hazy. Except that it is AWESOME and I need to catch up
( ... )
Seriously. Nakidd!Yorick. And how he deals with that.
To add, I think the Tennant would have been a perfect choice for film-version Yorick if he were eight, nine years younger. Because Brian K. Vaughn has promised us a movie. Yes!
And you know the third and final reason why I'm a bad Y... fan? Because I have ALL the comics (it's on my pull list, so I get each and every issue), and STILL haven't read them. *facepalm*
Oh dear, Tennant, yes. I hadn't thought of him as Yorrick, but I can see him in the role if, as you say, he were almost a decade younger. Pity that he isn't.
Two/Jamie/Zoe fills me with glee while, at the same time, making me sad, because we all know how it ends. And it's awful, that Jamie and Zoe are made to forget all their adventures with the Doctor, cos they were truly fantastic together
( ... )
Look, I didn't forget! Sorry for taking so long to get to this, but, 1) I wanted to answer everything in order, 2) I had to rewatch the movie before I typed something up, and 3) I got distracted by the Oscars last night. *grins* (I think this is going to end up a bit disjointed, cos I don't really know where I'm going with this
( ... )
When you respond like that, take as long as you need to reply! Beautifully said…I think I need to watch the movie again myself to properly respond to your response *g*.
So for now I'll leave it with one big WORD. *skips off to watch*
...And omg, I just realized I don't have an icon to match. I must find myself one and then watch. Yours is so cute-I have that screencap as my wallpaper. :)
