...my god, I am such a bad Y the Last Man fan because I sat here for a bit, going, "Yorick who?" I mean, if you'd just mentioned "Yorick," I'd probably have had a 50/50 chance of knowing just who you were talking about, but the inclusion of his last name totally threw me off since I never think of him like that.
And I am also a bad Y... fan because I'm, like, over half a year behind on the comic. So, it's been forever since I reread the series, and since I have a bad memory like...well, something really bad, it's all really hazy. Except that it is AWESOME and I need to catch up.
But, Yorick. I love Yorick, I do. He's an idiot a lot of the times, but, eh. It cracks me up when someone says that his impression of a man isn't too good, because, hah! And it totally amazes me that he managed to go as long as he did as the last man on the planet and not sex up every woman that came his way, as you just know would have happened if the series was written by a less capable writer than BKV. Also, it speaks a lot of his devotion to Beth. Which is another thing I love about him, that he's so devoted to her even thought it's been literally years since he's seen her and he doesn't even know if she's still a live.
Oh, Yorick.
And I love his relationships with 355 and Doctor Mann, and even though I wanted to slap him for his reaction when he walked in on them having sex, I could also understand it, cos, wow, shock. But still, idiot.
Also, I don't like his sister. But I think that might have been changing when I stopped reading. I don't remember. Hmm.
Seriously. Nakidd!Yorick. And how he deals with that.
To add, I think the Tennant would have been a perfect choice for film-version Yorick if he were eight, nine years younger. Because Brian K. Vaughn has promised us a movie. Yes!
And you know the third and final reason why I'm a bad Y... fan? Because I have ALL the comics (it's on my pull list, so I get each and every issue), and STILL haven't read them. *facepalm*
Oh dear, Tennant, yes. I hadn't thought of him as Yorrick, but I can see him in the role if, as you say, he were almost a decade younger. Pity that he isn't.
