I can't believe it took me every last day to get this picspam done.
picspammy's 16th challenge is non-fandom and there were two things I immediately though of: travel and shopping. I think this picspam is quite self-explanatory, so as always please wait for the images to load. Image credits: Google and
Panoramio Day 1 : London (United Kingdom, Europe)
Why I included the London Eye? It might not be London's most popular attraction (that honour goes to Trafalgar Square) but it's certainly my favourite. I believe it sort of has the same effect/release as binge-shopping, only less stressful, and less expensive. Plus it's probably one of the best places to see London as long if you're lucky enough to catch a clear sunny day.
Days 2 : Paris (France, Europe)
A quick ride on the Eurostar, and you'll be in Paris. Two places I must always go is the Notre-Dame de Paris and Effiel Tower. I've been to France multiple times but still love taking pictures there. The only other place I would have wanted to add is the "Alps". But it took me forever to learn how to ski. I thought it'd be alot like skating (which I can do perfectly well) but the few days I spent taught me otherwise. We always take advantage of the tourist attractions we have in our own city, so you appreciate others more.
Day 4 : Berlin (Germany, Europe)
You can't go on much of a trip without Berlin. Apart from the pieces of the Berlin Wall, there isn't anything specific I would have to visit, but it's a place where there's endless to see. In my eyes, Berlin is a city of culture and modernization.
Day 6 : Vienna (Austria, Europe)
Mainly just to see/experience two places; The Vienna State Opera and Vienna Musikverein - both world renowed opera houses.
Day 7 : Rome (Italy, Europe)
Day 9 : Milan (Italy, Europe)
I would totally be freaked out by the glass boxed mannequin thingys they put up during one of the recent Fashion Weeks. But because it's Milan, it works.
Day 11 : Giza Necropolis (Egypt, Africa)
Away from Europe, we arrive at Egypt. Ancient Egypt is always facinating. I've always wanted to see the Great Pyramids, to see how tall and big they are in real life. And of course, to check out the head of the Sphinx.
Day 13 : Dubai (United Arab Emirates, Asia)
I guess in the modern era, one of the most exciting places to visit is Dubai.
Day 14 : Mount Elbrus & Moscow (Russia, Europe)
I've only been to Russia once, and that was a flight stop over in Saint Petersburg so I've never actually seen any of it. Being the biggest country theres loads of places I would love to see (a tour of Russia sounds like heaven) but Red Square at Moscow is top of the list. Followed by Mount Elbrus (one of the Seven Summits/Volcanic Seven Summits) which made it as one of the "Seven Wonders of Russia". Both are situated on the European side of Russia.
Day 17 : Helsinki (Finland, Europe)
The place where the sun never sets. The orange twilight : breathtaking.
Day 19 : Beijing (China, Asia)
I've been to Beijing a number of times but never took the time to walk the tour for the "Forbidden City" - I heard it takes two hours - so just call me lazy. But after reseaching it, there's alot more I would like to see especially now my Chinese history is much better. Another place I would like to see is the Bird's Nest stadium, we'll never get a view like the Olympics Opening, but just to check out the structure would be interesting.
Day 22 : Hong Kong (China, Asia)
No travel marathon can go without Hong Kong. It's like my second home, and I'm familar with the place. Shopping, eating, sleeping, partying is all here. And the underground/subway system has air-con. The only problems I have: ordering a Big Mac.
Day 24 : Seoul (Korea, Asia)
Day 27 : Tokyo (Japan, Asia)
It's Tokyo!! I never get tired of going to Tokyo, there's always new places to see, new shops to visit, and there's a great contrast between the city nightlife and country scenary.
Day 31 : Palau (Pacific Ocean)
I would love to go scuba diving one day, I don't know much about diving, but I hear the Palau is a beautiful place. Plus, the only other place I know of in the Pacific is Bora-Bora and I'm not too much of a sun-sand-sea person.
Day 33 : Sydney (Australia)
Day 35 : São Paulo & Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, South America)
This is such a stereotype, but Brazil just seems like a such a fun and carefree place, no one seems to be upset, and everyone seems to partying. In Rio de Janeiro, I love how close the city and the beach are to one another.
Day 39 : Chicago (Illinois, USA)
Amongst the world's best skylines, I would love to take a picture from each rooftop. What attracts me to Chicago, it that it seems to have a perfect mix of historical and modern architecture.
Day 40 : Detroit (Michigan, USA)
Going to Detroit is purely due to fandom reasons, going to Hockeytown to watch the Red Wings play would be a dream come true. And getting to examine/read the decorated arena roof would be a bonus.
Day 41 : New York City (New York, USA)
Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Empire State Building, Wall Street, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Madison Square Garden - I'm sure I could go on forever.
Day 47 : Disney World (Florida, USA)
Where there's Mickey and Co = Happy Place! I've been to Disney in Paris, Tokyo and HK but never Florida. Did I mention I love Disney!
Day 49 : Grand Canyon (Arizona, USA)
Let's just hope I don't get lost!
Day 52 : Las Vegas (Nevada, USA)
Viva, Las Vegas!
Day 55 : Roswell (New Mexico, USA)
I admit I'm a slight Roswell fan. It's not that I exactly believe in aliens, but I would like to see how the town uses Area 51 as a tourist attraction, and are there really crazy people stalking the place.
Day 56 : Los Angeles (California, USA)
Hollywood!
Day 58 : San Franciso (California, USA)
Fisherman's Wharf! We have some pier replicia thing here in London so I would love to see the original.
Day 60 : Seattle (Washington, USA)
Day 61 : 2010 Winter Olympics (Vancouver, Canada)
Again, this is more due to personal reasons. And it's very specific time reference. I'm lucky enough to actually get to go to Vancouver during the Olympics so I thought it'd be appropriate add it here.
Day 72 : Niagara Falls (Toronto, Canada)
Who wouldn't want to visit a place this beautiful?
Day 74 : Northern Lights (Quebec, Canada)
I've always been fascinated by the Northern Lights since I saw a photo taken in Nunavut (some Nothern territory in Canada) and from then on it's always been a place I associate with the Northen Lights. I hear Alaska is probably an even better place to catch them, but if I had to go any more North I think I'd freeze to death.
Day 77 : Hawaii (Atlantic Ocean)
I'm more of a winter child - so beaches not too much my thing. But if there's anywhere in the world I would want to take in the sun: it's Hawaii.
Day 80 : London (United Kingdom, Europe)
And we are I am back home.
