I really love how you started your fic, personally i'm an admirer of good fic starters because I could spend ages just thinking of a good fic starter and I love how effortless yours is, because like everything just rolled after that, and a good fic starter for me is something that clicks, something that establishes, and this one, it told so much in just one line, the character, the situation, the emotion of the pov.... you know?
