No comment of mine could ever do this justice. There are no adjectives sublime enough to describe, and the usual hyperboles feel cheap in the face of this. Your care and effort and affection for the characters in crafting and developing them throughout, as a teacher might do her wayward students... hon, I stand in awe.

“Ryu, you dumbass, I thought I’d never see you again,” Hayato breathes against his skin, arms wound so tight around Ryu’s torso it’s like he’s trying to suffocate him. “You know you can’t take anything I say seriously.”

Ryu mashes his nose into Hayato’s collar, so happy their lack of privacy doesn’t matter. “I forgot,” he says, half-tempted to kiss all the way up Hayato’s shank track, to take it back for himself.

Ryu thinks Hayato’s about to do something really embarrassing before Yankumi beats him to the chase. She comes over and throws her arms around both of them, mooshing a cheek into the gap between their arms.

“All these months I wanted to say something, and I never could!” Yankumi bawls. Ryu and Hayato try to pull away, but her grip around them is ridiculously strong. “All those months Odagiri was so sad and alone, and really Yabuki was waiting the entire time, hoping that he’d move on and be happy without him!”

“Yankumi…” grunts Hayato.

“You guys,” she sobs proudly, “this is the true meaning of friendship!”THIS IS SO

oh god, i am so glad you like it. it is literally the result of watching gokusen obsessively for a good month solid, trying to come up with hayaryu plots. it just...got...ridiculously out of control.

i have to admit, both you and misao_duo are two of my favorite writers. i really respect you guys, so this was a really big deal for me. especially because I ACTUALLY GAVE THEM A LEGIT MAKEOUT SCENE...O____O <---me, in fright.

Okay, so this is, hands down, just... amazing. Just fantastic. You made this them, you made this alive- and you made them boys, and men, and violent and stubborn and absolutely, heart-wrenchingly, painfully beautiful. Every single bit of this was just reeking of being alive and my god, so few fics can do that. Especially for a drama pairing, especially for something that isn't even- I don't even know, but this was just so many shades of fantastic I can't even explain to you how amazing it was.
